Harnessing the Somatic Bridge to Your Higher Self in the Midst of Chaos
Your capacity to lead others is directly proportional to your capacity to lead your own internal landscape.
In the high-stakes world of leadership, we often mistake "busy" for "productive" and "stress" for "passion." But true inner mastery: the kind that allows you to walk into a boardroom or a family dinner with a sense of unshakable peace: doesn't require a week-long silent retreat or hours of daily meditation. It requires a deep, reverent understanding of how your Spirit, Mind, and Body work in a holy trinity to navigate this human experience.
Sweet friend, you are already worthy. You don't need to earn your seat at the table through exhaustion. Your worthiness is innate, a divine spark that existed long before your first promotion or your latest achievement. My work is simply to help you clear the energetic cobwebs and regulate the physical vessel so that your Higher Self can finally take the wheel.
The Coaching Trinity: Spirit, Mind, and Body
When I work with leaders in my community at BW Global, we always look at the integration of the three pillars of existence. We cannot talk about "inner mastery" without acknowledging how these three layers interact.
First, we have the Spirit. This is your Higher Self, your Divine Angel Within. It is the part of you that is untethered by earthly stressors, the part that knows exactly what your next move should be.
Second, we have the Mind. This includes both your conscious thoughts and the deep, often hidden, subconscious layers. This is where your inherited conditioning lives: the stories passed down through your matrilineal line, the past life echoes, and the protective, self-sabotaging behaviours that stem from woundedness. For many busy leaders, the mind is a whirlwind of "what ifs" and "shoulds," often driven by one of the four core ego wounds: abandonment, loss, abuse, or codependency.
Third, we have the Body. This is where the rubber meets the road. In my framework, the body is the seat of Nervous System Regulation. It is where we experience the "felt sense" of our lives. If your body is stuck in a state of chronic "fight or flight," it doesn't matter how many affirmations you say; your Spirit cannot fully anchor into your physical reality.

Why the Nervous System is the Leader’s Greatest Tool
Leadership often demands that we exist in a state of high alertness. However, when that alertness becomes chronic, our nervous system loses its flexibility. We become "dysregulated." You might feel this as a tight constriction in your chest, a buzzing vibration in your hands, or a sudden coldness in your extremities. These are not just physical symptoms; they are messages from your body.
In my experience, many highly evolved leaders are actually functioning from a place of "functional freeze" or high-beta brainwave states. You’re getting things done, but you’re disconnected from your Spirit. You are leading from your trauma rather than your truth.
To move toward inner mastery, we must learn to regulate the vagus nerve: the "soul nerve" that connects the brain to the body. When we regulate, we tell the body it is safe. And when the body feels safe, the Mind can relax its grip, allowing the Spirit to lead.
The 5-Minute Mastery Protocol
You don't need a lot of time to shift your state. You simply need intentionality. Here are the tools I recommend to my clients who are navigating high-pressure environments. These are grounded, somatic practices designed to bring you back to your centre in minutes.
1. The Physiological Sigh (1 Minute)
This is one of the fastest ways to offload carbon dioxide and signal to your brain that the "threat" is over.
- Take a deep breath in through your nose.
- At the very top, take one more tiny, sharp inhale to fully expand the lungs.
- Exhale slowly and fully through your mouth, making a soft "whoosh" sound.
Repeat this three times. Notice the temperature change in your body. Feel the weight of your shoulders dropping away from your ears.
2. Orienting to Safety (2 Minutes)
Often, our stress comes from the Mind living in the future or the past. Orienting brings you back to the present moment, honouring the Physical/Shock level of the body.
- Slowly turn your head from side to side, letting your eyes land on things that feel neutral or pleasant.
- Name out loud: 3 things you see (the green of a leaf, the texture of your desk, the light on the wall).
- Name out loud: 3 things you hear (the hum of the fridge, a bird outside, your own breath).
- Name out loud: 3 things you feel (the soles of your feet on the floor, the fabric of your sleeves, the air on your skin).
This simple act interrupts the trauma loops of the Mind and grounds the Spirit in the "now."
3. The 4-7-8 Expansion (2 Minutes)
This is a powerful tool for those moments when you feel your ego wounds: perhaps a fear of loss or a sense of codependency: flaring up.
- Inhale for 4 seconds.
- Hold for 7 seconds (this hold is where the "cellular" shift happens).
- Exhale for 8 seconds.
The long exhale is the key. It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, moving you into alignment.

Moving Beyond the "Logic Brain"
As leaders, we are often rewarded for our logic. But true inner mastery requires us to value our "inner knowing" over the noise of the logical brain. Sometimes, the overwhelm you feel isn't even yours: it could be the collective energy or an inherited pattern of "over-functioning."
I often see dissociation framed as a negative, but in my work, I see it as a potentially highly evolved state. If you find yourself "drifting" during a stressful day, it might be your Higher Self's way of seeking a bridge to divine awareness. The goal isn't to stop the drift, but to learn how to anchor that divine awareness back into the Body through regulation.
When you regulate your nervous system, you aren't just "calming down." You are building the energetic capacity to hold more light, more responsibility, and more abundance without breaking. You are moving from a state of "surviving" your schedule to "honouring" your calling.
Integrating Mastery into Your Day
Inner mastery isn't a destination; it's a rhythm. I invite you to set a gentle chime on your phone to go off three times a day. When it rings, don't look at it as another task. Look at it as a loving invitation to check in with the trinity of Spirit, Mind, and Body.
Ask yourself:
- Spirit: Am I leading from my Higher Self or my wounded ego right now?
- Mind: What story am I telling myself about this deadline?
- Body: Where am I holding tension, and can I breathe into it?
If you find that your Mind is stuck in a loop of self-sabotage or if your Body feels perpetually stuck in a "shock" state, know that there is no right or wrong way to feel. You are simply navigating your unique blueprint of trauma recovery and spiritual expansion.
