Talking to dead people is simply a Tuesday afternoon for me, and honestly, the sheer normalcy of it is where the real magic and the real work actually begins. When you spend your life dancing between dimensions, you quickly realize that the quality of the messages you deliver has very little to do with the spirits themselves and everything to do with the state of the instrument they are moving through. That instrument is you. Not just your "gift" or some ephemeral concept of intuition, but the actual, lived-in reality experience.

To catch that frequency, your physical form acts as a receiver. When a spirit brings forward the sensation of a heavy chest or the scent of a specific lilac bush from a childhood home, they aren't actually manifesting lilacs in your living room. They are impressing that data onto your physical senses.
If your Body is bogged down by unprocessed shock or if you aren't physically grounded, that raw data gets garbled. Think of it like a high-end microphone that hasn't been cleaned in a decade. You can have the most beautiful singer in the world standing in front of it, but the recording is going to sound muffled and distorted. I often see mediums trying to "reach higher" to get better messages, when the real secret is to go deeper into the physical vessel. When you are truly inhabited in your skin, you can distinguish between a flutter in your stomach that belongs to the spirit and a flutter that belongs to your own digestive system or anxiety. This level of discernment is what separates the masters from the hobbyists.
The Nervous System: Your Volume Control
This brings us to the crucial role of your nervous system. In my work, I see the nervous system as the "silence" required for clear spiritual communication. If your system is constantly in a state of high alert: if you are living in a sympathetic "fight or flight" loop: there is simply too much internal noise to hear the subtle whispers of those on the other side. Regulation is your volume knob. When you have the capacity to sit in true internal stillness, the subtle shifts in energy become massive, clear signals. The impressions are clearer, what you receive makes sense and the more evidential information you gather, the more confident you become. Cultivating a calm, balanced nervous system allows you to tune into these subtle energies with greater precision, fostering deeper understanding and more meaningful communication with the spiritual realm.
Without this regulation, we fall into the trap of "flooding." This happens when the energetic input from the other side overwhelms your system, causing you to shut down or start "filling in the blanks" with your own logic just to make the session end. Or worse, the "performance" pressure kicks in. You feel the need to be "on," so you start pushing. But spiritual communication cannot be pushed; it can only be invited into a regulated, safe space. When your nervous system is calm, you become a clear glass vessel. The light passes through you without being bent or refracted by your own frantic energy.
The Mind as the Translator (and the Filter)
Once the data hits the Body, it moves to the Mind to be translated. This is where things usually get messy. The Mind is a brilliant translator, but it is also a filter made up of your conscious and subconscious experiences. This includes every limiting belief you’ve ever held, every bit of inherited conditioning from past loves, and the protective self-sabotaging behaviours that grew out of your own past experiences.
When a spirit sends a flash of a red car, a Mind that is clear will simply say, "I see a red car." But a Mind cluttered with ego wounds might see that red car and immediately think, "My uncle had a red car and he was a jerk, so maybe this spirit is a jerk," or "I need to be right about this car so that I don't disappoint the sitter." That’s the "static." We start "psychic guessing" because our own emotional baggage is clouding the lens. If you haven't done the work to heal those core ego wounds: be it abandonment, loss, or the need for external validation, those wounds will inevitably colour the messages you receive. Inner mastery is about knowing your own "mental flavour" so well that you can instantly spot when your own thoughts are trying to hijack the transmission.
Your Nervous System is Your Anchor
This leads us to the foundation of the entire structure: your nervous system. A calm, grounded nervous system is the anchor. When it’s regulated, you can access the energetic impressions and insights with clarity and confidence. You realize that you aren't the one creating or forcing the information; you are simply a clear conduit through which the energy and messages flow. This receptivity allows you to distinguish genuine connections and guidance from mental noise or emotional triggers. As your nervous system becomes more balanced, your ability to trust the subtle signals deepens, making your readings more accurate and your connections more authentic. In this state, communication feels gentle yet precise, creating a space where messages can be received clearly and transmitted effortlessly.
Clearing the rust through inner mastery means doing the deep, sometimes uncomfortable work of looking at your own shadows. It’s about acknowledging that your advanced spiritual gifts are actually bridges to divine awareness, but those bridges need maintenance. When you commit to this practice, you aren't just becoming a better medium; you are becoming a clearer human. You begin to operate from a place of sovereignty where your worthiness is a settled fact, not a goal to be reached through a successful gallery reading.
